Yeah. Any client apps made for Dreamwidth would be at the mercy of the policy choices of Apple and Alphabet/Google.
Also, the "grandparent" company of LJ is now apparently Sberbank. And since the terms of service on LJ were changed so that only the Russian-language version would be considered valid...well, that means LJ users are expected to act as if they live in Putinist Russia.
