Replicator... I want a Philadelphia style cheese steak sandwich. Thinly sliced beef cooked on a griddle, served on a small loaf of Italian bread, with melted cheese, fried onions, and condiments as desired. A twentieth-century street food snack.
The diner picture was originally set in a diner in NYC. But they would know how to make a Philly cheese steak (Cheese steak sandwiches are known fairly far from their origins as Italian-American street food in that historic city). And Spock's a vegetarian, so he'd have to be ordering a hearty salad.
I can't eat pizza or cheesesteak. I'm violently allergic to onions and garlic, and also to the tomato in the pizza sauce, and cheese in general.
The choice of doughnut flavors in Tim's is always intriguing. But one time I was visiting friends down South and they took me to a Krispy Kreme doughnut place as they were just coming out hot from the fryer. Nowadays the amount of fat in one doughnut would have me writhing on the floor in agony before I'd even finished eating the whole thing. But I wish I had one right now!
Krispy Kreme has this complicated dougnut-making machinery that produces freshly prepared doughnuts fresh from the deep fryer and still wet from the glaze waterfall. As the British doughnut girls found out, doughnuts are at their most tempting when they're hot from the fryer. And that's why people drive for two hours to their nearest Krispy Kreme shop. (The nearest one to me is in midtown Manhattan, but it's awkward to go there for a doughnut.
Tim Hortons is a whole lot better than US "Dunkin Donuts", which are usually overcooked and served at room temperature.
I'm terrible at this. I usually will have a salad bowl, and a personal pepperoni pizza, and a couple of pinwheels and diet coke. I know... it's bad. :(
I don't eat salads or pizza. And I'm working on translating a Klingon rant against vegetables - 'Am I supposed to eat these smelly filthy things that grow out of the dirt? THose go to feed Fieldbeasts, who fatten on that trash and grow muscular and full of plentiful MEAT - Warriors eat that meat to grow stronger. But not PLANTS!
